About the TV channel

On November 1, 1989, the regional TV channel started its work in Zhambyl region. This event was one of the brightest pages in the history of the region.

First, Zhambyl TV is the first team in the country to join the electronic information space after a 21-year hiatus. The channel, which was launched on November 1, 1989, broadcast live six days later a workers' march in the central square.

Initially, the staff of the TV channel aired once or twice, sometimes three times a week. The duration of the messages did not exceed 15-20 minutes. The USSR State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting allocated 40-45 minutes to regional television broadcasts.

One of the main goals is to increase the number of Kazakh-language programs on the channel. Initially, the broadcasts were broadcast on PTS (mobile television). Soon the old building of the Zhambyl Institute of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering on Suleimenov Street, which was overhauled and technically equipped, was transferred to the TV channel.

The accelerated launch of the Karatau city TV studio has not gone unnoticed. As a result, news and broadcasts began to be broadcast live from the TV studio.

After the country gained independence in 1991, daily airtime (except Saturdays and Sundays) was extended by one hour. The current weekly airtime of the Zhambyl regional branch of the Republican Television and Radio Corporation "Kazakhstan" (Kazakhstan-Taraz TV channel) is 98 hours, daily broadcast - 14 hours. Weekly and daily monitoring of television programs showed that compliance with the language ratio of airtime is in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Mass Media". That is, the share of broadcasts in the state language is about 60-70%, and the volume of broadcasts in Russian is 30-40%.

The total number of the channel's own programs is 30, of which 6 are socio-political, 5 are cultural, national-ethnographic, 4 are socio-economic, 1 is religious, 2 are sports, children's programs, and the rest cover a wide range of other topics. All programs are broadcast in the state and Russian languages in accordance with a special schedule of the channel. The weekly range of author's programs is 2660 (44.3 hours) minutes and 380 minutes (6.3 hours) per day. Weekly share of Kazakh language programs - 1015 minutes. The share of programs in the state language varies from 60% to 85% every day of the week.

According to the broadcasting schedule approved by the management of the branch, the time and volume of publication of materials published in the state language are kept on a regular basis.

The coverage of one-hour programs of the TV channel on the National Channel "Kazakhstan" in the settlements of the region is 86%. In September 2011, the channel was one of the first in the country to switch to a tapeless broadcasting system.
