RTL Zwee is the second national TV channel from RTL Lëtzebuerg in Luxembourg, and you can watch RTL Zwee live online through RTL Play or the rtl.lu site. Most of the programming is in Luxembourgish, with some German and French.
What the channel airs
The channel launched on 15 March 2004 as Den 2. RTL and took the RTL Zwee name on 23 March 2020. It sits inside RTL Lëtzebuerg, part of RTL Group, as a companion to the main RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg channel.
The schedule mixes news, entertainment and sport. News comes as De Journal in Luxembourgish, 5 minutes in French and De Magazin, alongside a live feed from RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg with traffic, weather and webcams. Game shows, films, magazines and cartoons like The Simpsons fill out the entertainment side. Sport is the standout, with UEFA Champions League live and Formula 1 Grand Prix races since late March 2021.
Before 20:00, the lineup often matches the main channel. After 20:00, RTL Zwee runs a replay loop and different content.
Who tunes in
RTL Zwee was set up with younger viewers in mind. The audience figures tell a slightly different story, though. RTL AdAlliance reports 113,000 monthly viewers, with the 45-54 and 55-64 groups making up 35.5% and 42.4%, and 16-24 at 22.1%. The youth angle reads more like editorial intent than the real crowd.
How to watch
Open the live feed at rtl.lu/tele/live-2, or stream the channel on RTL Play, which also offers replay and a video library. The page shows a daily schedule, and playback quality can be set to auto or HD. Rights restrictions can limit sport and some shows by region, so a match you want may not play from every country.
Worth bookmarking?
Part of the schedule duplicates the main channel, so the real draw is the sport slots and the extra programming around them. If that sounds useful, bookmark the page for match days and pass the link along to anyone who follows Luxembourg TV.
