24KZ, originally known as Khabar 24, launched in September 2012 as Kazakhstan's first 24/7 news channel. It was a pioneer in Central Asia by broadcasting in HD and is part of the state-owned Khabar Agency. After a few name changes over the years, it officially returned to the 24KZ brand in late 2023, staying true to its mission of providing balanced news on both local and global events.
The channel runs 48 news bulletins a day, along with deep-dive segments on the economy, culture, and sports. What's cool is that 100% of their content is produced locally in Kazakh and Russian, with a big focus on promoting the country’s own language and cultural heritage. Even with social media becoming popular, 24KZ is still a huge deal, reaching 99% of the population and attracting an average viewer age of 39.
You can easily watch 24KZ online through their official website or various streaming apps. Beyond Kazakhstan, the channel has expanded its reach to many other countries, including Germany, Poland, Russia, and throughout Central Asia, via satellite and cable networks.
