TV Oromiyaa, officially known as the Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN), is one of Ethiopia’s major public broadcasters, based in Addis Ababa. It serves as the main media voice of the Oromia Region and operates across television, radio, and digital platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.
OBN is managed by the Oromia Radio and Television Organization (ORTO), which was established in 2006 and renamed in 2011. The network was created to deliver timely and reliable local and international information, broadcasting in 14 Ethiopian languages and three international languages.
Its programming includes regional and national news, educational, cultural, and entertainment shows, as well as political and social talk programs. Most content is aired in Afaan Oromo, alongside Amharic, Somali, Afar, English, and other languages.
OBN broadcasts 24 hours a day on television, covers the entire Oromia region via radio, and reaches a large audience through terrestrial TV, satellite, and online streaming. While its primary audience is the Oromo community, the channel also attracts viewers across Ethiopia and abroad, especially among younger audiences.
