24 News HD, officially known as 24 Digital HD, is a 24-hour Urdu-language news and current affairs television channel in Pakistan. It was launched in May 2015 and is based in Lahore. The channel is part of City News Group, founded by Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi. In its early years, 24 News HD focused mainly on in-depth analysis and talk shows before shifting toward a full-time news format to better match audience demand.
The channel is recognized for its political talk shows, investigative programs, and policy-focused discussions, targeting viewers who are interested in news, governance, and social issues. Although its share of traditional TV viewership is relatively small compared to major Pakistani news channels, 24 News HD has built a reputation for analytical content, especially among urban and educated audiences.
Since 2020, the channel has faced legal and regulatory challenges related to its broadcasting license. Despite attempts to suspend its transmission, 24 News HD continues to operate under a court stay order. At the same time, it has invested heavily in digital platforms, expanding its online presence and launching 24 Plus Digital in 2024 to reach younger, digital-first audiences.
