Siyatha TV is a private Sinhala-language channel in Sri Lanka, owned by Voice of Asia Network (Pvt) Ltd, a media group that also runs several other radio and TV brands. The channel went on air on 17 September 2009. From day one, the channel covered the whole island through terrestrial transmission and also streamed by satellite on the owner's own DTH platform.
The lineup is broad: teledramas, reality shows, movies, cartoons and news bulletins. Editorial focus leans toward family viewing, mixing entertainment with information. Cartoons cover the younger kids, while teledramas, films and news go to the general Sinhala-speaking audience.
Picture quality is what the channel likes to talk about. In 2016, Voice of Asia announced Siyatha TV as the first and only 4K Ultra HD channel in Sri Lanka at that time, along with a 1080p HD version on the Peo TV IPTV platform. Worth remembering, though, that this is the owner's own claim, with no independent figures behind it.
For watching, the official site at siyathatv.lk offers a live stream, a schedule in Sri Lanka time (UTC+5:30), plus a library of new episodes and news clips. The site advertises around 18 hours of live broadcast a day. Access is aimed at viewers inside Sri Lanka, so streaming from abroad may hit geo or rights blocks. The channel also appears in the local channel list on Dialog Television, and Peo Mobile carries a Siyatha Live TV page too.
Nothing in the source covers stream speed, so the only real test is to press play on your own connection. On convenience, the channel is reachable several ways at once, through the website, Dialog and Peo TV, and the schedule page and episode library make catching up on a missed show easy. Siyatha TV sits in the same general Sinhala group as Hiru TV, Sirasa TV, TV Derana and Rupavahini, so there is plenty to compare against.
If the stream works for you, bookmark the channel page for next time, and pass it along to anyone who follows Sinhala TV if you think it is useful.
