The Vyas Higher Education Channel is dedicated to the students studying their degree courses in universities and colleges. The curriculum which is being followed is based on UGC model curricula and CBCS compliance. The scheduling of the channel is based on the step scheduling format.
The pedagogy or approach to impart education, which is being adopted to create dynamic step scheduling, is to provide a variety of the content and flexibility to view the content. This will certainly provide freshness to the scheduled content with its unique vertical placement. It will also break the monotony of horizontal repeats and provide more opportunities and flexibility to choose the desired time and day for the students to view the desired programs.
Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), an Inter-University Centre was established by University Grants Commission (UGC), in 1993. It is a part of the initiatives of the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India.
CEC has 21 Educational Multimedia Research Centers (EMRCs) located in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), bringing together the best of experts across India.
CEC is mandated to address the higher education needs of the country by way of Developing Educational Multimedia Content and its Dissemination through various modes of communication such as TV, Radio, Internet, and offline modes, etc.
CEC is engaged in the Production and Dissemination of higher educational programs/content, benefitting millions of students, teachers, and researchers across the country.
CEC is also the National Coordinator (NC) for the development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for MHRD’s SWAYAM platform in the area of Nontechnical UG subjects. CEC is also the National Coordinator for 11 SWAYAM Prabha DTH Educational Channels. These projects are designed to take the best teaching & learning resources to all, including the disadvantaged and marginalized.
CEC is working towards increasing the outreach of high-quality digital learning to the learners enrolled in the universities and educational institutes to enrich their knowledge or skills-set through higher education online courses.
