Launched in March 2002, News24 made history by becoming the first specialized news channel in Albania to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The channel was founded by Italian journalist Carlo Bollino along with shareholders from the Gazeta Shqiptare newspaper, Radio Rash, and the Balkanweb portal.

Initially, the channel was owned by the Italian company Edisud S.p.a. In 2011, News24 was acquired by two Albanian businessmen, Irfan Hysenbelliu and Artan Santo, under the Focus Media Group. The channel's operational model was inspired by Italy's Rai News24, focusing on delivering continuous, real-time news.
