About Rai Südtirol

Rai Südtirol is a regional broadcasting station in Italy that focuses on providing television and radio programs specifically tailored to the South Tyrol region. It offers a variety of programming, including news, cultural content, sports coverage, and entertainment shows, with a particular emphasis on reflecting the interests and concerns of the local community in South Tyrol.

It is a German-language radio and television service provided by the Italian public-service broadcaster RAI to South Tyrol from its studios in Bozen.

It was launched on 7 February 1966 and is the company's German and Ladin languages television channel aimed at the German-speaking public of South Tyrol and the Ladin-speaking population of Ladinia.

Unlike all other RAI channels, Rai Südtirol is not on air 24/7. It broadcasts the programs of Rai Südtirol and Rai Ladinia for different periods of time day by day. Outside its own broadcasting hours, Sender Bozen's frequencies are used by Rai 3.

It is a popular channel with a wide range of programming, including news, current affairs, documentaries, sports, entertainment, and children's programming. It is also a major source of information for the German-speaking community in South Tyrol.
