Channel 13 (רשת 13) is one of Israel’s major free-to-air commercial television channels, launched in 2017 following the restructuring of Channel 2. In 2019, it merged with Channel 10, creating a unified broadcaster with strengths in entertainment, scripted drama, and news. The channel broadcasts nationwide in Hebrew and operates under Reshet Media.
In terms of content, Channel 13 positions itself as a mainstream, secular channel aimed mainly at urban, middle-class audiences. It is well known for large-scale reality shows such as Big Brother Israel, high-end drama series like Black Space and Red Skies, and a strong news and investigative journalism division that builds on Channel 10’s editorial legacy.
In recent years, Channel 13 has faced financial pressure due to intense competition, political polarization, and the growing impact of streaming platforms. A management-led buyout in 2025 helped stabilize ownership and operations. Today, the channel is focusing on premium content production and international partnerships as its long-term strategy in a shrinking traditional TV market.
