It is widely regarded as the official media outlet of the Muslim Brotherhood overseas, covering political developments in Egypt, the Arab world, and the broader Muslim community.
Launched in February 2016, the channel emerged as a media voice for Egyptian opposition figures in exile following the political shifts of 2013. In August 2020, the Muslim Brotherhood officially designated Watan TV as its sole television platform representing their political stance abroad.
