TV Mainfranken (tvm) is a private regional television channel based in Würzburg, serving the Unterfranken region in the German state of Bavaria. Founded in 1987 under the original name TV Touring, the channel began broadcasting on February 17, 1988. Since December 2017, it has operated under the name TV Mainfranken.
The channel focuses strongly on regional content, including news, sports, talk shows, culture, and documentaries. Its main news program, Mainfranken aktuell, runs for 30 minutes. In addition, there are various special-interest shows covering topics such as health, business, and local personalities.
TV Mainfranken reaches between 186,000 and 225,000 viewers in Unterfranken via multiple platforms, including cable television (Lokalkanal 9 and temporarily on RTL frequency), digital satellite (Astra), IPTV (Telekom Entertain), and live streaming through its official website.
In addition to its broadcasting activities, TV Mainfranken owns Mainfranken Media—a media agency specializing in video productions such as commercials, corporate films, and social media content. The editorial team consists of around 52 staff members who research and present current stories from across the region daily.
Recognized as one of the first private regional TV channels in Bavaria, TV Mainfranken has received multiple awards from the Bavarian Regulatory Authority for New Media (Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien). With its strong regional focus and diverse programming, the channel plays a key role in the media landscape of the Unterfranken community.
