West Liberty University TV is a Live TV from The USA that broadcasts business news, football, games, news and current affairs, and talk shows programs and offers a rich tapestry of programming that spans a wide range of interests

Following humble beginnings, originally in a small studio located in the basement of the Elbin Library, West Liberty University’s broadcasting program has grown to now include a multi-million dollar facility equipped with leading technologies.  West Liberty University Television (WLU-TV 14) today reaches far beyond its once limited carriage to now reach more than 100,000 cable homes on Comcast Cable Channel 14 and is web streamed 24 hours a day.

As it is known today, West Liberty Television now has a unique role since first airing in the fall of 2007, by providing a significant level of original programming to the community.  This commitment by the University has created great benefit on multiple fronts as the operation of this station simultaneously provides a very unique experiential educational opportunity for our students, while providing valuable “community-oriented” programming that serves as a platform to promote and grow West Liberty University.

Additionally, ever-growing West Liberty Television’s most popular programming is its live coverage of West Liberty University Hilltopper football and basketball games via the West Liberty Sports Network.  Under the direct guidance of broadcast professionals, students work in the majority of production roles in a live laboratory educational experience.

With operations led by a former Emmy nominated director is Theresa Gretchen.  West Liberty University Television’s talented staff additionally includes WLU grad Jared Thompson (’09), who coordinates WLU’s technical efforts.  WLU continues to grow its capabilities within its Broadcasting Major with a vision of developing a Sports Broadcasting and Remote Production program.

West Liberty Television’s programming includes: At Issue: Week in Review, Concert in the Kitchen, and On Money, Your Town, In Your Business, Off the Hill, among other shows.  WLU-TV also airs programming provided by the television programs at Wheeling Park High School and John Marshall High School.  Additionally, WLU-TV is the flagship for West Liberty University football and basketball broadcasts as part of the West Liberty Sports Network.
