It is a free-to-air television channel in Thailand. It is owned and operated by the Royal Thai Army Radio and Television. Thai TV5 HD broadcasts a variety of programming, including news, entertainment, and sports. It is one of the most popular television channels in Thailand. The channel was launched in 1958 as a black-and-white channel. It switched to color broadcasting in 1975. In 2012, Thai TV5 HD launched its high-definition (HD) channel.
