About Mekameleen TV
Mekameleen TV is an Egyptian opposition TV channel founded in 2013 by former President Mohamed Morsi and his supporters. It broadcasts news, talk shows, and documentaries critical of the Egyptian government and the military, and is known for its strong support of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Mekameleen TV has faced censorship and harassment by the Egyptian government, including raids on its headquarters and arrests of its journalists. Despite this, it continues to broadcast from Istanbul, Turkey and has a significant audience in Egypt and among the Egyptian diaspora. Mekameleen TV is recognized by international organizations as an independent and important voice for the Egyptian opposition.
