Founded in Avellino in 1982 by the journalist Pasquale Grasso, over the years it has focused mainly on its catchment area, namely Irpinia and part of the Sannio. Always attentive to local information, thanks to the historical collaboration with the sports teams of the capital of Irpinia, it has long been the reference station for fans of Avellino and Scandone Basket.
In early 2000, it was acquired by the dentist and publisher from Caserta Pasquale Piccirillo and became part of the Luna set group.
Following the total transfer of Campania to the digital terrestrial transmission system, Telenostra is authorized by the Ministry of Communications to transmit from the Monte Vergine transmitting center for the Province of Avellino on the UHF 64 channel, and also obtains a second authorization, for Telenostra Sport, on the UHF 66 channel.
However, while the composition of the Telenostra multiplex is independent of that of the rest of the multiplexes managed by the Luna set group, the Telenostra Sport mux assumes the same composition as the Teleluna 2 multiplex, broadcast on the same frequency in Naples and in the provinces of Caserta and Benevento.
On 16 September 2015, the publisher closes the channel.
In April 2016, after being taken over by the d'Agostino group, it returns to broadcast on channel 189.
