LiveTV is a directory of publicly available FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channels, not a broadcaster. Every listing that appears on the platform goes through an editorial approval process before publication, and is monitored on an ongoing basis afterward. This page explains the standards our team applies when reviewing a channel and the automated checks that keep listings accurate once they go live.
Approval Criteria
We only approve television channels with a public broadcast stream, freely distributed on the internet by the broadcaster itself - under Public Domain terms or as Free-to-Air (FTA) programming.
In practice, this means a channel is eligible for listing only if:
- The stream originates from the broadcaster's own official player, embed, or publicly accessible source, or is distributed through a recognized platform (YouTube, Twitch, and similar) in line with that platform's Terms of Service.
- No login, subscription, paywall, or authentication is required to view it.
- The broadcaster has made the stream openly available for public viewing, whether through an official website, an embeddable player, or a direct listing request submitted via Submit a Channel.
Channels that require a paid subscription, are geo-restricted behind authentication, or come from unofficial re-streams and unauthorized pay-TV feeds are not eligible, regardless of stream quality or popularity.
Initial Verification Process
Before a channel is added to the directory, our editorial team checks:
- Source legitimacy - confirming the stream traces back to the broadcaster's own infrastructure or an authorized distribution platform, not a third-party re-encode.
- Metadata accuracy - genre, region, language, and broadcaster name are sourced from the broadcaster's own official information, not guessed or inferred.
- Accessibility - the stream loads and plays correctly through the original source's player, with no modification, re-encoding, or repackaging on our side.
Only channels that pass all three checks are published.
Ongoing Monitoring: 24-Hour Automated Scans
Our system automatically scans every listed link on a 24-hour cycle to confirm the stream is free of malicious code and still originates from the broadcaster's official source.
Each automated pass checks for:
- Malware and malicious redirects - the linked or embedded source is scanned to ensure it has not been compromised or hijacked to serve unsafe content.
- Stream authenticity - the system confirms the feed still resolves to the broadcaster's official player or embed, not a substituted or unauthorized source.
- Availability - dead links, expired embeds, or channels that have gone offline are flagged for review or removal.
Any channel that fails a scan is suspended from public listing pending manual review. This routine is what allows LiveTV to reflect an industry that changes constantly - channel launches, shutdowns, rebrands, and regional availability shift on a near-daily basis.
What Disqualifies or Removes a Channel
A channel is removed or rejected if we find that it:
- Streams from unofficial, pirated, or unauthorized infrastructure.
- Requires bypassing a paywall, DRM, or authentication to access.
- Has been altered, re-encoded, or repackaged from the broadcaster's original feed.
- Fails a 24-hour integrity or malware scan and is not resolved after review.
- Is the subject of a valid takedown request from the broadcaster or rights holder.
