Overview
JTBC, a leading broadcasting company in South Korea, has signed on as title sponsor for the Founders Cup in Phoenix, it was announced Monday by the LPGA.
The event is the LPGA’s first domestic stop in 2014 and will be held March 20-23 at Wildfire Golf Club.
“All of us at JTBC is thrilled to be in a position to help grow the LPGA as a successful global golf tour,” said Jeongdo Hong, CEO of JTBC. “The Founders Cup honors the revolutionary women whose vision and commitment continues to extend hope and joy to golf fans around the world.”
Also announced Monday was that Cheyenne Woods and Birdie Kim have received exemptions into the event. Woods, who won last month’s Ladies Australian Masters, grew up and still resides in the Phoenix area.
