Silverbird Productions is a full-service entertainment company operating under the Silverbird Group. The team is made up of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals with over 30 years experience in the entertainment industry comprising of Event Management, Beauty Pageant, and Concert Promotions. Silverbird’s Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) brand produced the first and only black African Miss World in 2001, and Silverbird carved a niche as a ground-breaking company by building the first international standard mall and Cineplex in Nigeria, the Silverbird Galleria, which paved the way for other malls in the country. Silverbird Communications Limited which encompasses both Silverbird Television and our flagship radio station, Rhythm FM, Silverbird Communications operates in six of the ten Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (“NBC”) Zones.

  • Championed International Concert Promotions in the ‘80s
  • Introduced the ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant’
  • MBGN in 1986, that later produced the first ever Black African Miss World in 2001.
  • Blazed the trail for Television Programme Syndication in 1990
  • Revolutionized FM Radio Broadcasting in 1997 and set up stations across the country
  • In 2004 – Established Silverbird Television, Nigeria’s first Family Entertainment TV Channel, voted as the Most Entertaining Television Station in Lagos in 2005
  • Won the National Network Broadcast license in 2009 as the second radio and television network license operator in Nigeria.
  • This signaled an immediate break in the monopoly held by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for over 52 years and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) held for nearly 79 years.
