History
February 19, 2008, the superior council of audio-visual launches a call for a candidate for frequencies DTT on the transmitter of Bouvigny-Boyeffles and the transmitter of Lambersart1 to catch up with the delay of France in local television compared to the neighboring countries2.
Jean-Michel Lobry, head of the Lille cable channel C9 Television, unable to transmit its channel in analog because of the frequencies and Belgium, offers his project3. Three channels compete for the two transmitters.
In October 2008, the La Voix Group's project was selected by the CSA and the channel received authorization to broadcast in the region4 thanks to the Bouvigny-Boyeffles transmitter. The CSA chose the channel of Jean-Michel Lobry for the most powerful transmitter of the area because it had a file more important than the two other2.
After having launched the Wéoshow in early March to identify the best singers and humorists, the Wéo channel was launched on April 17, 2009, and broadcast on TNT channel 20 in the Nord department and part of the Pas-de-Calais department, thanks to the Bouvigny-Boyeffles transmitter. Since December 12, 2012, Wéo has been broadcast on TNT channel 35.
