About CNN Brasil
CNN Brasil is the first news channel in the country to debut first on digital and then on television. With 24-hour multiplatform programming, it is possible to follow CNN Brasil through the main pay-TV operators; through the website cnnbrasil.com.br through social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and podcast platforms.
CNN Brasil is a Brazilian company licensed from the CNN brand, in an agreement signed in January 2019 with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC). The most influential news channel in the world, CNN is part of the WarnerMedia conglomerate, which brings together channels such as HBO, TNT, and Cartoon Network.
Made by Brazilians for the Brazilian public, CNN Brasil is headquartered in the capital of São Paulo and has offices in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, reporters mirrored by the country, international correspondents and a recognized team of journalists, presenters, and commentators.
CNN Brasil has an autonomous Editorial Board, responsible for all content of the vehicle's programming. The purpose of the Board is to reaffirm CNN Brasil's commitment to its editorial independence, in line with the business principles of the most credible journalism references in the world.
The Editorial Board is composed of eight professionals, seven journalists, and a lawyer with specialization in the area of media and communication. The group of executive journalists has recognized experience in the communications sector, whose CVs have been reviewed and endorsed by CNN Internacional (CNNI).
Among the eight members, six positions will be permanent: the CEO and founder, Douglas Tavolaro, who is also a partner in the company; CNNI Executive Consultant, Shasta Darlington; the Vice President of Journalism, Leandro Cipoloni; the Vice President of Content, Américo Martins; the Vice President of Programming and Multiplatform, Virgilio Abranches; and the Legal Director, Marco Aurélio Cordeiro. The other two positions of the Editorial Board will be held alternately between the directors of Journalism: André Ramos, Ellen Nogueira, Fabiano Falsi, Givanildo Menezes, Henri Karam, and Roberto Munhoz.
Observing the guidelines of the license agreement signed with CNN International, the Editorial Board has total and unrestricted editorial independence from the Board of Directors.
The Editorial Board is chaired by the CEO and meets weekly and in extraordinary calls. It is up to the Board to respond to the content conveyed on all platforms, define the policy and editorial parameters, and watch over CNN's News Standards & Practices Policy Guide.
