TV Cultura is a Brazilian television network that focuses on educational and cultural subjects but also offers sports as entertainment options. It was founded in 1960 and was later acquired by the São Paulo State Government, which donated it to Fundação Padre Anchieta. TV Cultura is a public TV station and has intellectual, political, and administrative independence from the government of São Paulo's state. According to a 2015 study by the BBC and the British institute Populus, TV Cultura is the second-highest-quality channel globally, following BBC One.
